Focus Syllabl Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026. This policy covers Focus Syllabl, published by KTP and Data, Inc. (KTP Games).

Effective October 22, 2026

The short version: Focus Syllabl stores your tasks, habits, classes, and schedule on your device, and nothing about them reaches us. The only exception is Collaborate, the optional group chat and shared-task feature: if you turn it on, what you share there is stored on our servers so your groups can see it. We don't track you, we don't run analytics or ads, and we never sell your data.

What the app stores, and where

Your tasks, habits, lists, classes, assignments, identity reflections, and settings are stored locally on your device. They are included in your normal device backups (which you control through Apple), and they are deleted when you delete the app. Screenshots you attach to your own tasks stay on your device too. None of this is sent to us.

Collaborate (optional)

Collaborate lets you chat and share tasks, notes, and files with groups you join. It is off until you choose to set it up. When you do, we store:

  • A display name you choose, shown to members of your groups.
  • A random device ID and sign-in token created by the app to recognize your account. They aren't your advertising ID and aren't used for tracking.
  • What you share — messages, shared tasks, notes, and files — so the members of your groups can see it.
  • A push notification token, so you can be notified of new messages.

This data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the United States. Images you upload are checked by Microsoft's Azure AI Content Safety service to block harmful content. Content you delete, and files past the keep-for time you picked, are permanently removed by a nightly cleanup; content that has been reported may be kept until it's reviewed. When something is reported, a record of the report — including the reported content — is kept in our server logs for up to 90 days.

You can delete your Collaborate account at any time in the app: Settings → Collaborate → Delete Collaborate Account. This deletes your messages and uploaded files, removes you from every group, and erases your name. Shared tasks and notes you worked on stay with their group, shown as "Deleted user". Collaborate's terms of use, including its community rules, are shown in the app before you set it up.

Calendar access

If you grant calendar permission, Focus Syllabl reads events from the calendars you choose so they can appear alongside your classes and tasks. Access is read-only — the app never changes your calendars — and the events are displayed on your device only.

Apple Reminders sync

If you grant reminders permission, the reminder lists you create in Focus Syllabl sync with Apple Reminders through your own iCloud account, so you can edit them in either app. That sync is between your device and your iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy; we never see it.

Notifications

Reminders for habits, tasks, classes, and assignments are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device. If you use Collaborate, new-message notifications are sent through Apple's push notification service. You can turn notifications off in the app's settings or in iOS Settings at any time.

Widgets

Home-screen widgets read your data through Apple's app-group container on your device. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.

If you email us

If you contact us — for example, sending syllabi so we can consider supporting your school — we use what you send only to answer you and to build that support. We don't add you to mailing lists or share your email or attachments with anyone.

Children

Collaborate is for people 13 and older. The rest of Focus Syllabl collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and change the effective date above.
