Common questions

Why does MyMemoryTide need access to my photos?
It reads your library to show memories from this day, find related pictures, and build slideshows. The app never uploads your photos. They leave your iPhone only when you share them. You can allow all photos or only the ones you pick, and change that anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → MyMemoryTide.
Some of my photos are missing.
If you gave access to only some photos, the app can only see those. Tap Select More Photos to add more. To include iCloud Shared Albums, turn them on under Shared Folders → Photo Sources.
Search or Places is still filling in.
The app indexes your library on your iPhone, and place names are looked up gradually. For a large library, keep the app open with your iPhone plugged in. It always picks up where it left off.
What can I search for?
Try a scene or thing ("beach," "dog," "sunset"), a place ("Paris"), a name you've added in People, or a date ("Jul 22"). You can also browse your Timeline by what's in your photos, browse by place month by month, or tap Random day.
How does People work?
Tap Find Faces and the app finds faces in your photos, on your iPhone. You then pick the faces that show the same person and name them yourself. Nothing about faces is sent to us.
Which slideshow shape should I pick?
Square works best for social feeds, Landscape (16:9) is made for YouTube, and Portrait (9:16) fits Shorts and Reels. Photos fill the whole frame, so some edges may be cropped.
Where do my slideshows go?
When a slideshow is ready, tap Share to send it anywhere, or Save to Photos to keep it in your library. Tap Edit to change it.
How do subscriptions work?
MyMemoryTide Premium unlocks slideshows, Places, Search, People, and Timeline. It costs $2.99/month or $29.99/year after a 1-week free trial, billed through your Apple Account. Sharing memories is free for your first 60 days. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On a new device, tap Restore Purchases in the app's settings.
Why can't I delete some photos in the app?
Photos from an iCloud Shared Album belong to the person who shared them, so iOS doesn't let the app delete them. You can manage them in the Photos app. Deleting your own photos always asks you to confirm first.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. The app collects nothing. See the privacy policy.
